Manage waste better

Did you know that landfill tax in the UK goes up by £8 a year? Yes – Landfill Tax has increased from £18 a tonne in 2005 to £48 a tonne in April 2010. (Landfill Tax is an environmental tax charged over and above normal charges for dumping waste in identified landfill sites). Local authorities, waste contractors and all other organisations dumping waste in such sites are charged the Landfill Tax.
Since waste contractors pass on this tax including it in their disposal costs, companies hiring waste contractors will not easily know how much of the billed amount is Landfill Tax. Never have any doubts that you are not paying it! The UK Government has imposed this tax so that all the players concerned will perforce look for alternative methods to dispose waste, like recycling.
